Randy K. Otto, PhD, ABPP
Randy K. Otto, Ph.D., ABPP is a clinical psychologist and is board certified in clinical psychology and forensic psychology. He has been a faculty member at the University of South Florida since 1989. His primary appointment is in the Department of Mental Health Law & Policy, he also teaches in USF's Departments of Criminology and Psychology, and he has served as an adjunct instructor at Stetson University College of Law. Dr. Otto has co-edited and co-authored a number of books relevant to forensic mental health practice. He is a co-author of Psychological Evaluations for the Courts: A Handbook for Mental Health Professionals and Lawyers (4th edition), Ethics in Forensic Psychology Practice, and Forensic Reports and Testimony: A Guide for Psychologists and Psychiatrists.
Dr. Otto served on the American Bar Association committee that revised the Criminal Justice Mental Health Standards in 2016, and he has also served as president of the American Psychology-Law Society and the American Board of Professional Psychology-the oldest and largest credentialing organization for psychologists. Dr. Otto is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association and he has received awards for his work from the Society for Personality Assessment, the American Academy of Forensic Psychology, and the New York State Psychological Association.
